The former Disney sweetheart and her ex score two nominations each, including the Choice Female Artist and Choice Male Artist respectively.

AceShowbiz - The first nominees for the 2016 Teen Choice Awards have been unveiled. In music field, Selena Gomez and her ex Justin Bieber lead the pack with two nods each, including the Choice Female Artist and Choice Male Artist respectively.

Gomez is pitted against BFF Taylor Swift and fellow former Disney darling Demi Lovato as well as Beyonce Knowles, Ariana Grande and Rihanna in the category. The 23-year-old songbird also has her hit "Hands to Myself" nominated for Choice Song Awards (Female), the same prize vied by Swift's "New Romantics", Grande's "Dangerous Woman", Lovato's "Confident", Adele's "Hello" and Meghan Trainor's "No".

As for Bieber, he's set to battle against fellow Canadian stars Drake and Shawn Mendes as well as Charlie Puth, Nick Jonas and Zayn Malik for the Choice Male Artist title. His "Sorry", Puth's "One Call Away", Jonas' "Close" and Malik's "Pillowtalk" are up against each other for the Choice Song Award (Male).

One Direction, Drake and Beyonce are other notable names scoring multiple nominations. The British group is nominated for Choice Music Group Award along with 5 Seconds of Summer, DNCE, Fall Out Boy, Fifth Harmony and The Chainsmokers. Drizzy and Queen Bey are additionally in contention for the Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Artist trophy.

More nominees, as well as host and performers for the 2016 Teen Choice Awards will be announced in the coming weeks. Fans can now vote for their favorites in music, movie, TV and other categories on the TCA website. The winners will be revealed during a two-hour ceremony that's scheduled to air July 31 on FOX.
