The 'X-Men: Apocalypse' actor tied the knot with the actress in a private, low-key ceremony on October 18, 2006.

AceShowbiz - James McAvoy and his wife Anne-Marie Duff are divorcing. The couple announced they're ending their marriage after nine years together in a joint statement released on Friday, May 13. "It is with tremendous sadness that we have come to the decision to divorce," said the couple.

"We enter this next phase with continued friendship, love and respect for one another and the shared focus of caring for our son," the pair, who are parents to 5-year-old son Brendan McAvoy, continued, "We ask that you respect our and, most importantly, our child's privacy during this time."

During a recent appearance on "The Graham Norton Show" with his "X-Men: Apocalypse" co-star Jennifer Lawrence, Johnny Depp, Jack Whitehall and will.i.am, James was seen still wearing his wedding ring.

James got married to Anne-Marie in a private, low-key ceremony on October 18, 2006. The couple welcomed Brendan in 2010. They first met while starring on the British TV show "Shameless", on which Anne-Marie played James' character's love interest.
