Kesha's Mom Withdraws Counterclaims Against Dr. Luke as She Tries to 'Find Peace'

'She has decided to move on and find peace and forgiveness in her heart,' Sebert's attorney explains the decision to voluntarily dismiss claims made against the producer.

AceShowbiz - Dr. Luke's war against Kesha, formerly Ke$ha, seems to be far from over. However, the producer now has one less problem after the singer's mother Pebe Sebert dropped her counterclaims against him.

Luke previously sued both Kesha and her mom for defamation, alleging the mother-daughter duo used a "campaign of false accusations against him" in hopes he would release the 29-year-old songbird from her contract with his record label.

In response, Sebert countersued on the basis of "intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress based on the alleged abuse directed at Kesha." However, she voluntarily dismissed those claims on Tuesday, April 26 and explained her decision in a statement issued by her attorney Alex Little.

"The litigation with Dr. Luke has been a nightmare for Mrs. Sebert and her family," the attorney said. "She has decided to move on and find peace and forgiveness in her heart rather than dwelling in the cancerous past of an ongoing lawsuit with no end in sight."

Luke's team has responded to the withdrawal. His attorney Christine Lepera commented, "Pebe Sebert's voluntary withdrawal of all her claims against Dr. Luke is her acknowledgement that her claims are meritless. Dr. Luke's defamation and other claims continue against Pebe and Kesha Sebert."

Kesha's mom dropped her suit against Luke just days before her daughter releases her collaboration with Zedd. The "Tik Tok" hitmaker will be featured on a new version of the EDM superstar's "True Colors" that's due out on Friday, April 29.
