'Wolverine 3' Adds Stephen Merchant to Cast, 'Dark Tower' Hires Katheryn Winnick
Movie

Just a day after reports emerged saying Richard E. Grant would play 'a villainous mad-scientist type,' Merchant joins the 'Wolverine 3' cast in mystery role.

AceShowbiz - Another actor has joined the cast of "The Wolverine 3". Just a day after it's revealed that Richard E. Grant had been tapped to play "a villainous mad-scientist type," Deadline reports that Stephen Merchant will also appear in the movie.

However, there's still no word on Merchant's role. The British star, who co-created "The Office" with Ricky Gervais as well as "Hello Ladies" that ran on HBO for one season in 2013, joins Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart in the flick.

"Wolverine 3" is scheduled to start filming in New Orleans and New Mexico next month. To be directed by James Mangold from a script by David James Kelly, the movie is planned for release in the U.S. on March 3, 2017.

Also getting a new cast member is "The Dark Tower", which Variety says has hired "Vikings" star Katheryn Winnick to play a mystery role alongside Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, the adaptation of Stephen King's novel is set to arrive Stateside February 17, 2017.
