A follow-up to the 2015 horror comedy film could be once again directed by Rob Letterman and written by Daren Lemke.

AceShowbiz - There will be another chapter of "Goosebumps" on the big screen. Sony Pictures has confirmed that the work for "Goosebumps 2" is on the way with director Rob Letterman, writer Darren Lemke and producers Deborah Forte and Neal H. Moritz set to return.

The plan was also to bring back Jack Black who starred in the first film as the horror books' writer R.L. Stine. THR, which was first to report the sequel, did not mention about the other cast such as Odeya Rush and Dylan Minnette.

Made on a $58 million budget, "Goosebumps" had a total cume of nearly $160 million worldwide. The 2015 film had a 77 percent "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes and fared well on its home entertainment version.

The original pic follows Zach Cooper (Minnette) who befriends Stine's daughter, Hannah (Rush). It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange... he is a prisoner of his own imagination - the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books.

There are 62 books in the original "Goosebumps" series, meaning the filmmakers have plenty of source materials for the sequel.
