Michael Strahan Leaving 'Live! with Kelly and Michael' to Join 'GMA'

The former NFL player will exit the show he joined four years ago with Kelly Ripa over the summer.

AceShowbiz - Michael Strahan is leaving "Live! with Kelly and Michael" to join "Good Morning America" full-time. The announcement was made on Tuesday morning, April 19 by ABC News President James Goldston.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former NFL player, who has been appearing twice a week on "Good Morning America" since 2014, will begin his full-time duties in September. He will exit "Live!", the show he joined four years ago with Kelly Ripa over the summer. "I look forward to continuing to work with the incredible team at GMA. It is an exciting opportunity to be able to bring unique stories and voices to the audience," Michael said in a statement, "My time with 'LIVE with Kelly and Michael' has been transformative, and my departure will be bittersweet."

He added, "Kelly has been an unbelievable partner, and I am so thankful to her and the entire team. I am extremely grateful for the amazing support I've received from all of the fans."
