Jason Mitchell, who played Eazy-E in the N.W.A biopic, intentionally thanked the Academy while receiving the True Story Award at MTV's prize-giving event airing on Sunday, April 10.

AceShowbiz - The cast members of "Straight Outta Compton" are clearly still pissed that their film was snubbed at the 2016 Academy Awards earlier this year. Jason Mitchell, who played Eazy-E in the N.W.A biopic, decided to throw major shade at the Academy at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards over the weekend.

Mitchell let everyone know how he really felt about going home empty handed at the Oscars when he and his co-stars as well as N.W.A's member DJ Yella were on the MTV stage to accept the first-ever prize for True Story, a category dedicated to honoring a film based on true events.

"I would just like to take a moment to, like, thank the Academy, I mean, MTV. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. My bad!" the actor joked in his speech before continuing to give a shout-out to MTV, "You've all been pioneers for the N.W.A."

As everyone's already known, "Straight Outta Compton" was one of the best films released last year. Despite the positive reviews it had received from critics, the Academy failed to give the movie the recognition it deserved. It was only nominated for Best Original Screenplay at this year's Oscars, which was heavily criticized over the lack of diversity among its nominees.
