Hugh Dancy Joins 'Fifty Shades Darker', Charlize Theron Heads to 'Fast and Furious 8'

Dancy is playing a shrink in the erotic novel adaptation, while Theron is the big baddie in the next installment of the successful street racing franchise.

AceShowbiz - Hugh Dancy is the latest actor added to "Fifty Shades Darker". The English actor, who starred on NBC's "Hannibal", is cast as Christian Grey's shrink Dr. John Flynn who helps the protagonist to cope with the return of his former lover.

Dancy joins Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson who reprise their roles as Christian and Anastasia in the second film adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novels. In the sequel, Ana starts a new job, and at the same time she's faced with dealing with the reappearance of some of Christian's former flames.

Kim Basinger had previously been cast as Mrs. Elena "Robinson" Lincoln who introduced Christian to the world of BDSM. Filming is underway in Vancouver with James Foley as director. The pic will be released February 10, 2017.

In other casting news, Charlize Theron is officially heading to "Fast and Furious 8" as villain. She was in negotiations for the role of "a fierce female" back in February. "Our crew will face its greatest adversary ever in our next film as we welcome Charlize Theron to the Fast family," the franchise's Facebook page announced on Thursday, April 7.

Second unit photography is already happening in Iceland. F. Gary Gray is directing from the script by Chris Morgan. The pic is scheduled to be released April 14, 2017.
