MacKenzie Bourg, Trent Harmon, La'Porsha Renae and Dalton Rapattoni returned home before singing tributes to their hometown on the live show.

AceShowbiz - With only a week away from its series finale, "American Idol" has narrowed down the singers to three. MacKenzie Bourg, Trent Harmon, La'Porsha Renae and Dalton Rapattoni survived the elimination last week, and they returned on Thursday night, March 31 before one of them was cut.

The Top 4 first performed their hometown tributes. "Idol" followed MacKenzie back to his hometown of Lafayette, where his sports dream died due to health issues but he found his love for music. He sang "Hallelujah" while playing guitar. Jennifer Lopez said the performance reflected MacKenzie's strength.

Before moving on with the next round of performance, the vote results were announced. And the eliminated singer was MacKenzie, meaning Trent, La'Porsha and Dalton are in the Top 3. MacKenzie's original song "Roses" played over his exit montage.

After a farewell with MacKenzie, the remaining contestants performed the songs chosen by Scott Borchetta. Dalton sang Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark". J.Lo praised his ability to make audience feel the lyrics of the song, and Keith advised him to "do what is true to yourself and stand out."

La'Porsha sang "Stay with Me Baby" by Lorraine Ellison. La'Porsha admitted she was initially against the song because she didn't agree with the message of begging a man to stay with you. The judges noticed that she put on an act and thus the performance didn't look authentic.

Trent's second song that night was "Drink You Away" by Justin Timberlake. Keith thought he didn't need the guitar, but aside from it the performance was great. J.Lo could see Trent as a winner with a performance like this.

Keith took the stage to perform "Wasted Time" off his upcoming album, before Dalton sang "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" chosen by the judges. J.Lo thought the key should've been a little higher, as Harry said it wasn't Dalton's best performance.

La'Porsha's third song was "Hello" by Adele. She sang it while holding her daughter onstage and Harry admitted it wasn't easy to do that. Keith called it beautiful, and J.Lo said it stretched her range.

Trent wrapped up the show with a performance of "Waiting Games". Keith said the song was "tailor made" for Trent. J.Lo said she got the gooseys, while Harry just wanted to remind viewers to vote for their favorite singers.

Next week, the two-part "Idol" series finale will air Wednesday, April 6 and Thursday, April 7 at 8 P.M. on FOX.
