The recent pictures from their Mexico vacation prompted questions whether Bailon was the girl he had relationship with while he was still married.

AceShowbiz - Gospel singer Israel Houghton had been married to Meleasa Houston for 20 years when he shockingly announced their divorce last month. Pictures of him cozying up to singer Adrienne Bailon in Mexico suddenly surfaced on Tuesday, March 22 and invited chatters on how quick he moved on.
Houghton, who produced a 2013 movie "I'm in Love with a Church Girl" where Bailon was a star, defended his new relationship in a Facebook post. "I met Adrienne Bailon a bit over two years ago; we worked together and became friends," he wrote. "Our circles connected, and we remained good friends. From a friendship, as two single adults, we have very recently begun to explore a dating relationship."
He emphasized the timeline in between his divorce and his relationship with Bailon. "As I previously wrote in a statement I released a while back, My marriage had been over for quite some time before going public with my divorce announcement," he continued. "...It seems to be simple math that I had not even yet met Adrienne during the time my marriage was falling apart."
The Grammy winner added, "It deeply saddens me that an innocent party would be dragged into this situation that I have taken personal responsibility for. Adrienne is a woman of integrity & character... Most of all she is a true friend, and she should not be blamed for my past indiscretions."
In his statement released in February, Houghton admitted that "several years ago I failed and sinned in my marriage" and that he had been trying to work on the marriage for 5 years. Many assumed he cheated and neither Houghton nor Houston had talked about it in detail.
