AceShowbiz - Iggy Azalea's fiance Nick Young is being investigated for allegedly sexually harassing two women. The Los Angeles Lakers told ESPN on Monday, March 21 that they're taking the harassment claim made by Alexis Jones against Nick and Jordan Clarkson "very seriously."
Alexis, a Los Angeles activist who campaigns against pro-athletes committing acts of sexual and domestic violence, shared on Instagram on Sunday, March 20 a photo collage of two men, who were later identified as Nick and Jordan. Alexis said she and her mom were sexually harassed by four men in a jeep when they stopped their vehicle near the intersection of La Brea and Melrose avenues in Hollywood.
According to Alexis, the men inside the Jeep began making "vulgar, sexual" gestures toward her mother. She recalled, "[My mother] was super rattled. That's the truth. It scared her. We were in a small car, and they were in a big Jeep, and it was a bunch of big dudes. They're leaning out of the car and making vulgar, sexual gestures. My mom was really shocked. That immediately turned into sobbing."
"The irony is I created a program called 'ProtectHer' out of the urgency to address sexual abuse in athletics, and I was on phone calls with the NBA as of Friday talking with them about integrating this message and this program into the NBA," she added.
On Monday morning, Alexis received a call from L.A. Lakers' spokesman John Black, who apologized on behalf of their player. Jack suggested Alexis to speak to the team about her campaign against pro-athletes committing acts of sexual and domestic violence. "I've been inspired by how the Lakers have responded," she said.
Later in the afternoon, Alexis was offered to meet Nick and Jordan to talk about the issues, but she was unable to come. She requested to have a phone call with the two athletes, but it was declined. "I'm not special. This is happening to women everywhere," she shared, "I'm not here to shame them. That's the last thing I want to do ... I don't want to crucify them. I want to use it as an opportunity to change behavior."
Neither Iggy nor Nick has commented on the issue yet.
