Find out which singers who make it into the Top 8 and which two singers who are eliminated.

AceShowbiz - "American Idol" didn't waste any time to whittle down the number of its contestants after unveiling the Top 10 last week. Two singers were cut in the Thursday, March 3 episode after America cast their votes and the judges saved one artist from the bottom three. Ryan Seacrest announced those who were safe one at a time, immediately followed by the singer's performance each time.

First to be announced safe was Dalton Rapattoni. He took the stage to sing "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons. Unlike his previous performances, he didn't put his own spin on the arrangement. Harry Connick Jr. still liked it, but said it was the first time Dalton wasn't as present as he had been in previous weeks.

Lee Jean was also voted through. He performed "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon as he tried to prove that he's not a carbon copy. The song perfectly fit his voice as Jennifer Lopez commented, "I think there's more voice in you than even you know right now."

After a performance by musical guest Demi Lovato and the Top 10 who sang her hit "Confident", Sonika Vaid was sent through. She tackled Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone". The judges thought she didn't loosen as much as she did last week and J.Lo suggested that she stop thinking about the notes so hard.

The next singer making it into the Top 8 was MacKenzie Bourg. He sang Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" but made it his own with his unique twist. "Some switch ups don't work, but that switch up really worked," J.Lo said. Harry said it was an amazing song choice, but thought that it would've been better if MacKenzie performed it with acoustic guitar instead of an electric guitar.

La'Porsha Renae was also safe and it's no surprise here since she was one of the judges' favorites. This time she stunned everyone with a cover of Beyonce Knowles' "Halo", showing her powerful voice again. "You're a hard act to follow," J.Lo said, as the judges had nothing but good words for her.

Harry took the stage to perform "(I Do) Like We Do" before Ryan announced that Trent Harmon was also voted through the Top 8. He sang "When a Man Loves a Woman". Keith Urban warned him about facial awareness getting in the way of emoting, but overall it was a great performance.

Tristan McIntosh also got into the Top 8 without having to sing for the judges' save. She sang "Go Rest High on That Mountain" by Vince Gill that night to win America's votes. She played the piano and despite some pitch issues, she showed improvement.

Gianna Isabella, Olivia Rox and Avalon Young were in the bottom three and it was surprising since Olivia and Avalon always showed consistent performances. "I can't believe these three are up there," Keith commented.

Avalon tried to win the judges' save by singing "Earned It" by The Weeknd. She returned to her comfort zone, but the judges said it was the right thing to do in this situation.

Olivia delivered an impressive performance of "Trouble" by Pink despite recently being hospitalized for flu. Harry wanted to see more vulnerability, as J.Lo wasn't sure that it would be enough to save her.

Gianna went with Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You" which showed her strong voice. Keith praised the performance technically, but said that he couldn't feel the emotions.

In the end, the judges chose to save Avalon. This meant Olivia and Gianna were eliminated.
