The 'All About That Bass' hitmaker reveals that she used to wear sweatshirts and sweatpants all the time to hide her body because she 'was so insecure.'

AceShowbiz - Meghan Trainor may be one of the most confident women in the world now, but she used to struggle with her body image at a young age. The "All About That Bass" hitmaker, who just won a Grammy for best new artist, opens up in an interview with CBS' "Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood" that she used to wear sweatshirts all the time, even if it's summer time, to cover up her body.

"I - every day - wore sweatshirts and sweatpants to cover up my body because I was so insecure," Trainor says. "And it would be summer. And I would go on vacation and I'd be in Trinidad and Tobago, 90-degree weather, and I'd be wearing sweatshirts."

She also reveals that she refused to wear clothes which were more appropriate with the weather although her family urged her to change her outfits. "I didn't want to show my arms," she shares. "I didn't want to show anything, and I was just so insecure and uncomfortable, and I thought, 'All right, if I'm fully covered - I'm good.' "

She admits that she should not have done it, but she just didn't understand why she felt like that. "I see pictures of my face and I'm just - I'm like sad, and I'm in a sweatshirt and I'm in my room producing 'cause I just turned off the idea of, like, 'You'll be the face,' " Trainor opens up.

However, the 22-year-old songstress is a different person now, thanks to her hit single "All About That Bass" which has boosted her confidence. "Confidence was always something I wanted in my life," Trainor said in a previous interview. "But I was always very insecure growing up. When I wrote 'All About That Bass', I wrote it wishing I was that confident. Then one day, they told me I would be the one singing it. It helped me to believe what I was singing."
