AceShowbiz - The Lonely Island's upcoming comedy for Universal has an appropriately hilarious official title. The comedy trio consisting of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone announced on Friday night, February 29 that their project would now be called "Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping".
Along with the title revelation, Universal shared the first poster and confirmed that the film would still open in U.S. theaters on June 3 against Warner Bros.' "Me Before You" and Paramount's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows".

"Popstar" is co-directed by Schaffer and Taccone based on the script they wrote along with Samberg. It will center on singer/rapper Conner4Real (Samberg) who, after his album flops, is left with little career choice other than to re-form his old boy band.
Judd Apatow will serve as a producer alongside Rodney Rothman and the trio. Tim Meadows joins the cast as Conner4Real's overworked but constantly upbeat manager. Sarah Silverman and Maya Rudolph are other names attached to the project.
