The 'Fury' actor stays inside an elevator at Oxford University for a full day and talks about various issues with the riders.

AceShowbiz - Shia LaBeouf invades an elevator at Oxford University in England for his latest art project dubbed #Elevate. Joined by artists Nastja Sade Ronkko and Luke Turner, the actor stays 24 hours inside the small space and has a chat about various topics with people who come and go in the lift.

The trio boarded the elevator at 9 A.M. on February 19 and will leave at 9 A.M. on February 20. The stint is streamed live on YouTube. The group only gets out of the lift for bathroom breaks and a talk at the Oxford Union on Friday evening.

"Visitors will be able to join LaBeouf, Ronkko and Turner inside the elevator during [the 24 hours], and are invited to address the artists, the debating chamber, and the internet, so that their collective voices may form an extended, expansive and egalitarian Oxford Union address," it says.

At one point, the "Fury" star talked about the ups and downs of his life. "The last couple years have been pretty interesting," he said. "Just because it's been a lot of turmoil and also a lot of positive. It's been a lot of extremes. It's been a very extreme couple years."

The former Disney star also answered questions about his career. "I had a lot of shame about what I was a part of," he opened up. "Some of the movies I've been part of that had no intrinsic value that are just commercials."

Of the art project, he explained, "[It's about] getting to know people, connecting to people. Men who get lost, like explorers, end goal is they hope they find a new world, a new land. "We're hoping that we find a more sincere affect."

Shia LaBeouf has been involved in a series of art installations. In 2014, he wore a paper bag over his head with the message "I am not famous any more" after he faced backlash for ripping off Daniel Clowes. He later followed it up with "#IAMSORRY" where he sat silence in a room while people were allowed to interact with him. He later claimed that he was raped by a woman, but his collaborator Ronkko and Turner intervened to stop her.

Last year, the "Transformers" alum rented out a movie theater in New York City and screened his 29 movies in an event called #ALLMYMOVIES. He followed it up a month later with "#TouchMySoul" where he, Ronkko and Turner received calls from thousands of people from around the world.
