Simon Kinberg says he 'could see' X-Force being adapted as an R-rated film following 'Deadpool' huge success on the box office.

AceShowbiz - "Deadpool" is seemingly paving the way for more R-rated superhero comic book movies to come. Hot on heels of the Merc with a Mouth's record-shattering success on the box office, "X-Men" producer/writer Simon Kinberg says he "could imagine a universe in which ['X-Force' is R-rated]."

He told Collider, "I think there are some stories that could be R-rated. I don't know what they are, I mean I think the mainline X-Men movies have their own tone, which is a more operatic tone. It's more dramatic, it is more PG-13 in a way. X-Force I could see being R-rated, and who knows?"

Directed by Tim Miller with Kinberg as one of the producers, "Deadpool" starring Ryan Reynolds gave fanboys a more authentic Wade Wilson, a far cry from the critically-panned portrayal in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". The movie opened $150 million in North America and $132.1 million in other territories for a worldwide gross of $282.1 million. A sequel has already got green light.
