AceShowbiz - It's true that "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is being published in a book form, but it's not a novel. The book will contain the script of the upcoming West End play, a collaboration work of author J.K. Rowling, playwright Jack Thorne, and director John Tiffany.
"To be clear! The SCRIPT of #CursedChild is being published. #NotANovel #NotAPrequel [winky face emoji]," Rowling set the record straight on Twitter. She also wrote, "The script will be in book form, true, but it's still #NotAPrequel because it's set #19YearsLater."
It will follow Harry as an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.
The book is set to be released on July 31, one day after the stage production is due to premiere in London.
