The retired football player bought a cup of coffee and a cup of tea for a paramedic and an injured elderly while the two were waiting for an ambulance in the cold.

AceShowbiz - David Beckham proved that he's a generous man with a kindhearted gesture to a paramedic and her patient. The retired football player treated paramedic Catherine Maynard and her elderly patient to some coffee and tea when the two were waiting for an ambulance.

Maynard assisted the old pensioner who had fallen near Endsleigh Street in central London and tried to keep the patient warm. While the two were waiting outside in the cold, there's a man who greeted them before he got in his car, and guess what, it's Beckham.

"All of a sudden, I looked up and saw someone who looked like David Beckham walking past us," Maynard, who works with London Ambulance Service's Cycle Response Unit, said. "He said hello and got in his car. I said to the man I was treating, 'I think that was David Beckham.' "

Maynard didn't expect that the former England captain would be back giving them a surprise. "Ten minutes later, he came back with a cup of coffee for me and a tea for the patient," Maynard explained. "It was awful cycling around in the cold today, and I couldn't believe it when he came back with some hot drinks - I was so chuffed. We were both very amused and flattered "

After the ambulance arrived, the patient was taken to the hospital and Maynard asked Beckham to stand next to her to take a picture. Afterward, the London Ambulance Service thanked Beckham for his kindness. "[He] respects hard-working paramedics and even a gesture as small as buying a cup of coffee makes our crews feel appreciated," an officer said.
