Iggy Azalea Agrees With Macklemore's 'White Privilege II', Except That Part About Her
Music

'I think it's impossible for everybody not to take influence from everybody,' the Aussie raptress says when asked if it's okay for white people to 'borrow from black culture.'

AceShowbiz - Now that she's listened to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "White Privilege II", Iggy Azalea says that she agrees with some issues addressed on the record. However, she still has a problem with the cultural appropriation part that she initially took issue with for featuring her name.

Iggy voiced her opinion on the song during a chat with TMZ at LAX recently. When further asked if it's alright for white people to "borrow from black culture," she responded, "I think all culture takes from all culture. We're so global now I think it's impossible for everybody not to take influence from everybody."

Iggy, who along with Miley Cyrus and Elvis Presley was mentioned on the song, slammed Macklemore on Twitter after some fans misinterpreted it as a diss. Her reaction led to a Twitter war with fellow rapper Talib Kweli.

Earlier this week, Macklemore explained the name-dropping in an interview with Rolling Stone. "For me, that second verse is unpacking. It's an unpacking moment of internalized criticism and self-doubt, and 'What have I done,' and letting the criticism infiltrate who I am. 'Why am I insecure at a protest?' " he told the site.

"And I think that people get put into boxes, and the conversation around cultural appropriation - I was at the forefront of that, rightfully so. And that conversation also included Miley Cyrus and Iggy Azalea, and that's why their names are on the record," he added.

"White Privilege II" is a follow-up to "White Privilege" that Macklemore recorded for his 2005 solo album. The new track may appear on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' sophomore LP "This Unruly Mess I've Made" that's due out on February 26.
