'Suits' Boss on Who Sold Mike: The Person Did It 'Because It Was the Right Thing to Do'
TV

Creator Aaron Korsh says the writers had various ideas of who it could be with excellent reasons, but he ended up sticking to the person he chose.

AceShowbiz - The fight against Mike's arrest began when "Suits" returned Wednesday, January 27. Picking up where the summer finale left off, the winter premiere saw [SPOILER ALERT!] Mike in interrogation room with assistant U.S. attorney Anita Gibbs who is hell bent on putting Mike away for good and prosecuting Harvey and Jessica if possible.

While Harvey is determined to fight this, Mike doesn't see a way out of this. "I don't care about winning this - I did this," he says, though he maintains his innocence to Anita. But Harvey reminds him that they have been involved in this together, and there's a chance for them to win this.

With a trial is looming, creator Aaron Korsh dishes on whether Mike will avoid the charge. While Harvey often chooses to settle cases, Mike's case will be "going to trial." Korsh tells The Hollywood Reporter, "There's no getting out of this. But I won't say if we're going to verdict this season. We may go to verdict, we may not."

Viewers are also wondering who turned Mike in. Korsh reveals the writers came up with various options of who it could be "with excellent reasons" which were similar, but "the person I picked was for a separate reason."

He adds to EW that he ended up sticking to the person he chose. "Most of the people they were thinking handed him in ultimately did it for some self-serving purpose," he explains, "I wanted the person to hand him in because it was the right thing to do."

On Donna's return to her old boss Harvey, Korsh says, "It just seemed like ultimately if Mike was caught that Donna would help Harvey try to get them out of this. So that's where the story was naturally going."
