'Orange Is the New Black' and 'Modern Family' are vying for the Outstanding Comedy Series prize, while 'Arrow', 'Empire' and 'Orphan Black' are nominated for Outstanding Drama Series.

AceShowbiz - Amid controversy regarding the lack of diversity in this year's nominees of Academy Awards, the GLAAD is going to honor the works of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. The organization has announced the nominations for its 27th annual Media Awards.
In TV field, ten shows are competing for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series. "Arrow", "Empire", "How to Get Away with Murder", "Orphan Black" and "Sense8" are among those vying the drama prize, while "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", "Modern Family", "Orange Is the New Black" and "Transparent" are pitted against each other in the comedic category.
E!'s "I Am Cait" starring Caitlyn Jenner is up for Outstanding Reality Program, and a "20/20" episode featuring her interview is nominated for Outstanding TV Journalism - Newsmagazine. "The Bold and The Beautiful" is the sole nominee in Outstanding Daily Drama, while "Late Night with Seth Meyers" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" are up against three other shows for Outstanding Talk Show Episode.
The GLAAD Media Awards is also honoring the works in movie, music and journalism. Gay singer Adam Lambert and LGBT supporter Miley Cyrus are among the nominees for Outstanding Music Artist.
