The singer spoke about how sexual assault changed her family's life before she played the ballad on piano during the event on Saturday, January 23.

AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa brought her song "Til It Happens to You" to the 2016 Producers Guild Awards over the weekend. During the ceremony on Saturday, January 23 at Los Angeles' Hyatt Regency Century Plaza ballroom, the singer delivered an emotional performance of the track which she recorded for the documentary about sexual assault, "The Hunting Ground".

GaGa looked fabulous in a floor-length cream dress with black spaghetti straps. She let her long blonde hair down while sitting at the piano and speaking in front of the crowd about one family member's experience with sexual assault before she started the song.

"I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported this film. It's not only an important issue to me but it's an important issue to my family," she said. "Because when my father's sister was in college, she was sexually assaulted and then it caused her so much torment that it caused the lupus that she had to get so bad that she died."

That night, "The Hunting Ground" was honored with the Stanley Kramer Award. "Til It Happens to You", which GaGa co-wrote with Diane Warren, is currently being nominated for the Best Original Song Award at the upcoming Oscars.
