AceShowbiz - Drake Bell is officially charged with one count of driving under the influence. The former Nickelodeon star is charged with a misdemeanor, which carries a maximum sentence of one year in county jail.
Bell was pulled over on December 21 after police saw him swerving, speeding and abruptly stopping at a red light in Glendale. Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot said the officer smelled the odor of alcohol coming from the car and put him under a field sobriety test. Bell failed and was taken to the police station but released hours later on $20,000 bail.
Bell, according to the Los Angeles County Superior Court complaint, refused to take a chemical test and is therefore subject to additional punishment. His arraignment is scheduled for March.
This is the second DUI arrest for the 27-year-old actor who committed the same offense in San Diego six years ago. He was convicted six months after the incident and declared bankruptcy in February 2014. Because Bell is a repeat offender, he's facing at least four days in jail and a suspended license.
