Amber Heard in Talks to Star in 'Justice League' and 'Aquaman'

The actress' character will be introduced in the first part of 'Justice League' before leading 'Aquaman'.

AceShowbiz - Johnny Depp's fiancee Amber Heard is in early talks to join "Justice League Part One" and "Aquaman". The actress is touted to play the lead female in the latter film and automatically will pop up in the bigger league.

If the deal goes through, Heard will star as Mera, the love interest of Aquaman and his eventual wife. As the queen of Atlantis, Mera is able to control and solidify water, shaping it as she desires. She made her first appearance in DC Comics' May 1963 issue of "Aquaman".

Heard will first appear in the first part of "Justice League" which introduces various characters and stories when it is released November 17, 2017. The actress will then star opposite Jason Momoa in "Aquaman", on theaters July 27, 2018.

James Wan is directing "Aquaman". Script-wise, both David Leslie Johnson and Kurt Johnstad are writing for the film's screenplay. Johnstad is directing "Justice League" and producing "Aquaman". Shooting for the first installment of "Justice League" will begin in April. Variety was the first to report the casting news.
