The 'Mad Max' actor will make a return to the Golden Globes stage on Sunday, January 10.

AceShowbiz - Mel Gibson is set to present an award at the 2016 Golden Globes along with Olivia Wilde. The Golden Globes announced the news on Twitter on Monday, January 4. "BREAKING! We're delighted to announce @oliviawilde and Mel Gibson as presenters at this Sunday's #GoldenGlobes!" read the announcement.

Mel has been favorite target of host Ricky Gervais in the past. Back in 2006, Ricky commented on the "Braveheart" actor's infamous DUI arrest and anti-Semitic comments. In 2010, when Mel presented Best Director Award at the ceremony, Ricky took a cringe-worthy jab at him. "I hope I haven't offended anyone. It's not my fault. I like a drink as much as the next man. Unless the next man is Mel Gibson," the host said.

In 2011, Ricky introduced Scarlett Johansson by saying, "Our first presenter is beautiful, talented, and Jewish apparently. Mel Gibson told me that. He's obsessed." In 2012, the host promised in his opening monologue that he's "not to libel anyone. And [he] must not mention Mel Gibson this year."

The 2016 Golden Globes airs live on Sunday, January 10 at 8 P.M. ET on NBC.
