DC and Warner Bros. are planning to release two movies every year starting from 2016 with 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and 'Suicide Squad'.

AceShowbiz - DC Comics and Warner Bros. have produced a number of superhero movies that were undeniably successful at box office. Though so, DC has not been satisfied yet with the achievement and wants to give movie treatments to some of its comic books. DC also builds its own cinematic universe and plans to release two movies every year starting from 2016 up to 2020.

For those who are wondering what titles included in the 2016-2020 slate, this article offers some information about plot, stars, release dates and other interesting revelations about the forthcoming movies. The first movie to arrive next year is "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". Taking place after the destruction at the end of "Man of Steel", the movie will serve as a groundwork for the DC Cinematic Universe.

It sees the Gotham vigilante (Ben Affleck) and the Metropolis savior (Henry Cavill) at war with one another as big villain Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) and Doomsday make everything worse. The movie, which introduces Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman and Jason Momoa's Aquaman, is directed by Zack Snyder and will be released in the U.S. on March 25, 2016.

The second movie in the year is "Suicide Squad", which follows some of DC imprisoned supervillains recruited by government to do a black operation in order to gain redemption. As it turns out, the mission will probably kill them all. The movie has a star-studded cast which includes Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto and Joel Kinnaman. Directed by David Ayer, the DC anti-hero movie is slated for a release in the U.S. on August 5, 2016.

Also in the list is Prince Diana's first solo movie "Wonder Woman". The movie follows Gadot's Amazonian Princess as she leaves her tropical home to dwell in our urban cityscapes of glass and steel. The film, which has Chris Pine play Steve Trevor, is directed Patty Jenkins and is set for a June 3, 2017 U.S. release.

On November 17, 2017, fans will get to see "Justice League Part One", which will be the third film in the cinematic universe to be directed by Zack Snyder. Though plot details are scarce, it is likely to include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman and Green Lantern.

Another superhero to get the spotlight in 2018 is Ezra Miller's The Flash. Scheduled to arrive stateside on March 23, 2018, the flick centers on the titular character, a young man who is struck by lightning-struck chemicals and gains the powers of super speed which he uses to fight crime.

Besides The Flash, Aquaman will also kick off his own adventure in his solo movie. Momoa will be back to reprise the King of Atlantis after making his cinematic debut in "Dawn of Justice". Directed by James Wan, the movie will arrive in North America on July 27, 2018.

Continuing the timeline is "Shazam", which follows the titular superhero's story. The movie is said to be more comedic than other DC movies, which tend to have dark tones. "Shazam" sees a young boy named Billy Batson who, thanks to the teachings of an old wizard, can transform into an adult superhero after saying the titular word. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to portray Black Adam, the movie's central antagonist. The movie will hit theaters on April 5, 2019.

In the middle of the year, fans will get to see "Justice League Part Two", which will conclude the story of the first movie. Director Snyder will be back to serve behind the lens though it's unknown whether actors from previous movie will all come back. The movie will be released on June 14, 2019.

As for 2020, there will be "Cyborg" and "Green Lantern Corps". The former centers on Victor Stone (Ray Fisher) who, after an accident, is given robotic pieces and injected with nanites, that turns him in a half-robot/half-human superhero. The movie is vying an April 3, 2020 release date.

Meanwhile, "Green Lantern Corps" is said to be a team movie, instead of just focusing on a single Emerald Knight. Details are still scarce, but it is expected to feature Hal Jordan and John Stewart. The movie will arrive on June 19, 2020.
