Together with Warner Bros. Studio, Plan B is on the search for a writer to bring the sci-fi novel by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff to life.

AceShowbiz - Brad Pitt is the latest making a foray into Young Adult novel adaptation. The actor's production house Plan B Entertainment is teaming up with Warner Bros. Studio to bring Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff's "Illuminae" to the big screen.

The book's official synopsis says, "The year is 2575, and two rival megacorporations are at war over a planet that's little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra - who are barely even talking to each other - are forced to fight their way onto one of the evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit."

The sci-fi novel from the Australian authors is told through a dossier of hacked documents such as emails, schematics, military files and medical reports. In a May interview with EW, Kaufman described the book as " 'Battlestar Galactica' meets 'Ten Things I Hate About You'. It's got explosions, surprise attacks, a deadly plague, a mad artificial intelligence, conspiracies, a desperate fight for survival, and also kissing."

The book has been receiving good reviews since its October release. According to THR, Plan B got interested in the project after seeing an early manuscript. Jesse Ehrman and Julia Spiro are overseeing the project for WB while Plan B's Sarah Esberg is on board as executive producer. Pitt is attached as producer alongside Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. A writer is on the hunt to adapt the book.
