The second installment of 'The Avengers' movie series is up for Favorite Movie and Favorite Action Movie in addition to scoring nominations for its stars.

AceShowbiz - Nominees for the 2016 People's Choice Awards have been announced with "Avengers: Age of Ultron" leading among movie nominees. The sequel to "The Avengers" is up for seven nods, including nominations for stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson.
The second installment of "The Avengers" movie series is vying for Favorite Movie, against four other blockbusters such as "Furious 7", "Inside Out (2015)", "Jurassic World" and "Pitch Perfect 2". The Downey Jr.-starrer also competes against "The Divergent Series: Insurgent", "Furious 7", "Jurassic World" and "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" to win Favorite Action Movie.
The Iron Man depicter, Downey Jr., is up for Favorite Action Movie Actor, against his co-star Hemsworth as well as Chris Pratt, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Vin Diesel. Downey is also nominated for Favorite Movie Actor. Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson, who portrays Scarlett Witch, comes up in several categories including Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Action Movie Actress.
Voting for the nominees including those in music, TV and celebrity has started on PeoplesChoice.com. The 2016 People's Choice Awards ceremony will be held on January 6, 2016 at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.
