Showrunners Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley respond to report that an established drama will kill off its co-lead this season.

AceShowbiz - As speculations arise about which show will kill off its co-lead this fall, "Castle" fans can now rest assured that their beloved characters Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) are safe. The show is now removed from the list of the killer twist as the showrunners themselves assure viewers that such thing isn't going to happen to either of its co-leads.

"We killed off Montgomery in season 3. We're not killing anymore people off," Terence Paul Winter tells Entertainment Weekly. Co-showrunner Alexi Hawley adds, "[If it were true], I can't imagine we'd be sitting here saying you're going to be excited to see what happens in January. 'Beckett's dead, but dont worry about it, it's still going to be fun!' No, we're not. It's absolutely not true."

TVLine was the first to report that a well established drama would kill off its co-lead this season. While details were scarce, it's said that the death twist would occur in the forthcoming fall finale and involve a character which has an important role on the show.

In last TV season, "The Vampire Diaries" bid farewell to its female lead Nina Dobrev (Elena), while "Grey's Anatomy" killed off the beloved McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey).
