Ellen Page in Talks to Star in 'Flatliners' Reboot

The Canadian actress is in negotiations to star in the remake of the 1990 sci-fi movie about a group of medical students who experiment with near-death experiences.

AceShowbiz - Making a reboot of a famous movie seems to be a new trend in Hollywood film industry. Variety brings words that %cEllen Page% is in negotiations to star in a remake of Joel Schumacher's 1990 sci-fi thriller "Flatliners".

Niels Arden Oplev, director of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" is attached to helm the upcoming film with a screenplay penned by Ben Ripley. David Blackman and Laurence Mark are producing.

The original "Flatliners" film starred %cJulia Roberts%, %cKiefer Sutherland%, %cOliver Platt%, %cWilliam Baldwin% and %cKevin Bacon%. The film centers on a team of medical students who were experimenting with near-death experiences in an attempt to learn about the afterlife. There is a speculation that Page will step in the role previously played by Roberts, although it's not confirmed yet.

Page was last seen in "X-Men: Days of Future Past". She is now busy promoting her drama "Freeheld", in which she stars opposite %cJulianne Moore% and %cSteve Carell%. Her movie, "Into the Forest", also premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September.
