Law enforcement believes White died of drugs overdose since there were pills found next to her body.

AceShowbiz - Jim Carrey's on-again off-again girlfriend Cathriona White has reportedly committed suicide at 28. TMZ was first to break the news, claiming she left a suicide note for the funny actor which referenced their break up on Sept. 24.
Detailing on White's alleged suicide, the site reported LAPD responded to a call in the L.A. area on Monday night, September 28. And when they went to a residence they found the body of Cathriona White. 2 friends found White when they went to check on her.
TMZ, moreover, claimed to have been informed by law enforcement that drugs overdose was believed to be involved judging from the fact that there were pills found next to White's body. Official statements are expected to be made by the officials regarding the case.
53-year-old Carrey and White met back in 2012. They dated for a few months before then breaking up. They rekindled their romance in May, but apparently broke up again last week. Carrey has yet to comment on the report.
