AceShowbiz - Terrell Owens was accused of assaulting a man while getting his coffee at Starbucks. The incident, which reportedly involved throwing hot coffee, took place in Brentwood, California on Tuesday, September 15.
According to TMZ Sports, Owens was harassed by a 28-year-old man identified as "Arman" inside the coffee chain. Arman was shouting the former NFL wide receiver's name and was told to lower the volume. The guy then said Owens intentionally tripped him while he walked past the sportsman. The scuffle continued outside the shop.
Owens got into his car and Arman, according to witnesses, threw expletives at him. In a video acquired by TMZ, Arman was heard calling Owens "f***ing knuckle-running, spear-chucking, monkey-ass looking motherf*****." Arman was following Owens to his car while accusing Owens of kicking him. The coffee cup allegedly was thrown after Owens went inside his car.
In Owens' version, the man followed him and a female friend to Starbucks and their car. Arman then threw his cup of coffee into his Mercedes and Owens got out to throw his empty cup. Ownes also said he definitely heard the man use the N-word.
TMZ caught up with Arman and told him that he was taped throwing the expletives. He said he was "purposefully racist," adding, "I just wanted to make him mad and sad. I'm Middle Eastern and Muslim and not KKK." He denied using the N-word and silenced the 'r' which he considered acceptable in the African-American community.
Insisting that Owens kicked him, Arman threatened, "You're lucky I don't whip your ass. I come from a very politically active family and community who has fought for the rights of any and every group that has ever been racially discriminated against." Arman called the police and paramedics, claiming he was hurt.
Police investigated the incident and found no evidence of coffee on Arman's clothing or any injury specified by him.
