Besides, it includes some never-before-seen footage from "Maggie's Plan", a film starring Ethan Hawke, Greta Gerwig, Julianne Moore, Travis Fimmel and Bill Hader.

Also featured in the trailer are Tom Hanks-starrer "Bridge of Spies", "Steve Jobs", "The Forbidden Room" and Todd Haynes' Cannes prize-winner "Carol". One big NYFF film that is not represented in the trailer is "Junun", the documentary by Paul Thomas Anderson which follows Jonny Greenwood's journey to India to record with Israeli composer Shye Ben Tzur.

The festival will also screen several women-directed and women-centric films. One of them is "Field of Vision: New Episodic Nonfiction", Laura Poitras' follow-up to her Oscar-winning documentary "Citizenfour".
