The 'You Raise Me Up' singer cheekily tweets, 'Thanks to my human girlfriend for allowing this wild hot weekend!' after news broke that he would play Miss Piggy's new boyfriend on the sitcom.

AceShowbiz - Miss Piggy is quickly moving on after her split from longtime boyfriend Kermit the Frog. Josh Groban is set to guest star on ABC's new series "The Muppets", playing himself who is the new love interest to Miss Piggy. The 34-year-old singer will appear in episode two.

Executive producer/showrunner Bill Prady reveals to ETonline that it's Kermit who sets Piggy up with Groban. "One of my favorite things that I love is when people solve problems in the worst way and it backfires," Prady says. "Piggy is in a foul mood. So her ex-boyfriend, Kermit, decides that the best way to calm everything down is to essentially fix Piggy up with somebody, and he does it by going to that list they had when they were a couple - the free pass list."

Kermit invites Groban as a guest on their show, "Up Late With Miss Piggy", and prepares an "incredibly romantic" production number. It turns into a disaster for Kermit as Prady dishes, "[Josh] has ideas about the show. And then it becomes, 'Well, my new boyfriend thinks this and my new boyfriend thinks that.' " He further teases that one of Kermit's crushes will also appear in the episode.

After news of his upcoming appearance on the new sitcom broke, Groban who is dating actress Kat Dennings in real life cheekily tweeted, "Thanks to my human girlfriend for allowing this wild hot weekend!"

The new "Muppets" series is set to premiere Tuesday, September 22 at 8 P.M. ET on ABC. Reese Witherspoon, Elizabeth Banks and Liam Hemsworth are among A-listers set to guest star on the show.
