The trainer who has been with the NBC weight loss show since the first season is promoted as a host for the new season after the longtime emcee left.

AceShowbiz - "The Biggest Loser" has found a new host for the upcoming 17th season that is scheduled to begin production in September. The show's longtime trainer, Bob Harper, will take on the new role, replacing Alison Sweeney who left after the last season.
"I'm super excited about taking the position of host on The Biggest Loser," said Harper. "I've been with the show since season one so I know all of the ins and outs, and let me tell you, the weigh-in room is going to be a completely different ballgame with me at the steering wheel."
While hosting the NBC weight loss show, Harper will continue to offer his training expertise to contestants at various points throughout the season. He is joined by Dolvett Quince and Jennifer Widerstrom who are returning to the show to train eight contestant teams of two.
