The main title sequence teases the characters' terrifying encounters with the Red Devil, but still includes humor.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Murphy has shared the opening sequence of "Scream Queens" ahead of the show's debut on FOX. Introducing the main cast, the super-sized main title sequence which is set to Heather Heywood's "You Belong to Me" shows the characters' terrifying encounters with the Red Devil.

Still, the video manages to include humor as Lea Michele's Hester is seen smiling and giving a thumbs up to the camera after screaming because the masked killer is standing next to her. It also teases Hester's transformation from a neck brace-wearing nerd into a glamorous Kappa queen.

The first season of "Scream Queens" will center on a college campus rocked by several murders. Emma Roberts plays Chanel Oberlin, the president of the Kappa sorority, with Michele, Ariana Grande, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd and Abigail Breslin playing other members of the sorority. Jamie Lee Curtis stars as Dean Cathy Munsch, the dean of the university, joined by Oliver Hudson, Skyler Samuels, Nasim Pedrad and Nick Jonas in the cast.

Murphy told Variety that almost all of the roles were written specifically for the actors. "Almost all of those parts were created for those actors. We want Jamie Lee Curtis to kick ass, and tell these girls that they're horrible little monsters. We want Jamie Lee Curtis to talk about what it was like in the 70's and 80's, fighting for feminism," he gushed.

"Emma's part was written for her," Murphy continued. "I adore her and we worked with her in 'Horror Story'. She kept saying, 'I want to be snarky again. I loved it when I was b***hy.' Lea, I wanted her to do something completely wacky and fun after everything she had been through."

Created by Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, the horror-comedy anthology series will kick off the first season with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, September 22 at 9 P.M. ET/PT on FOX.
