AceShowbiz - A bunch of A-list musicians performed at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, August 30. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and The Weeknd were among those gracing the stage at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

After opening the festivities with their joint performance, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift reteamed to introduce Macklemore & Ryan Lewis who then delivered the first live performance of their newest single "Downtown". The rapper and his producer pal recreated the song's music video as they took over the street in front of the Orpheum Theatre in downtown L.A. Joining the street party were their collaborators Kool Moe Dee, Melle Mel and Grandmaster Caz.

As for The Weeknd, he treated the crowd to his chart-topping single "Can't Feel My Face". The likes of Swift, Kanye West, Selena Gomez and Chrissy Teigen sang along and couldn't seem to stop dancing in the audience while the Canadian performed on the minimally-decorated red-lit stage.

Other performers for the 2015 MTV VMAs included A$AP Rocky, Twenty One Pilots and the show's host Miley Cyrus. The former two acts teamed up for a medley of "HeavyDirtySoul" and "Lane Boy" off the Ohio duo's "Blurryface" album before tackling "M'$" and "L$D" from the rapper's "At.Long.Last.A$AP" LP.

Cyrus, meanwhile, was joined by Wayne Coyne to close out the VMAs by debuting live a new song called "Doo It!" from her joint album with The Flaming Lips which she has just dropped online for free.
