AceShowbiz - "Inside Out (2015)" is obviously a smash hit as it has crossed the $700 million mark at the global box office. The film becomes the fifth Pixar and the seventh Disney animated movie to reach the mark.

"Inside Out" has earned $343 million domestically, making it the highest-grossing animated film of the year and the second-highest grossing Pixar film ever on original release, behind only "Toy Story 3". In its debut weekend, "Inside Out" got the best opening for an original Pixar title, earning $90.4 million from 3,946 domestic theaters. It came right behind "Jurassic World" which debuted at number one with $106.6 million.

Internationally, "Inside Out" has earned $358 million. Currently screened in about 81 percent of the marketplace, the film debuts in Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Singapore this weekend. Other major markets to screen the movie include Germany, Italy and China.

Disney distribution chief Dave Hollis revealed the strategies to make the animated movie really work, "John Lasseter has said that quality is the best business plan, and the cornerstone of every Pixar release. Quality in this case translated into 'Inside Out' becoming the biggest original opening in the history of the movie business by a stretch."

He added while praising "Inside Out", "It's so relatable with its characters, so sophisticated, drawing in both adults and families. We knew we had something extraordinary when 9 P.M. shows were selling out."

Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black and Diane Lane are the notable voice stars of the movie which was directed by Pete Docter and Ronaldo Del Carmen.
