Marvel Plans New 'Blade' Movie Centering on His Daughter

The studio is reportedly planning a new movie which will center on the story of the half-human, half-vampire vigilante's daughter, Fallon Grey.

AceShowbiz - Ever since Marvel got back the rights to "Blade" in 2013, rumors about a new Blade movie have been mounting. Wesley Snipes, who portrayed the vampire vigilante, said that there had been talks with Marvel Studios about his return as the character, but things were "still up in the air."

Back in July, Marvel Comics announced plans for a new comic book series based on Fallon Grey, the daughter of Eric Brooks/Blade. The first issue was set to be launched in October, but it has been delayed. Bleeding Cool now reports that the delay was done because Marvel wants to put Grey in a future movie project, so they want to create the character perfectly.

As the half-human, half-vampire vigilante plays a prominent role in Grey's comic book series, Snipes is expected to reprise his role as Blade if the aformentioned movie really happens. "Blade" creator Tim Seeley has described Grey as "a sort of 'anti-Peter Parker.' She's popular, she's well-liked and it seems like the world is her oyster. But, the expectations that come with being so damn perfect are starting to break her down, and that's before she learns she's the heir to a Daywalking-Monster-Stabbing-Empire."

However, the rumor is still far from official and the studio may have to see how well the Grey-based comics perform before adapting it into a film. If the rumor is true, Grey is very likely to be the franchise's non-white female lead.
