Morgan Freeman Takes Up Justice Role on 'Madam Secretary'

After serving as the first season's producer, Freeman will step up in front of the camera as actor and behind as director.

AceShowbiz - Morgan Freeman is listed as one of the guest stars on CBS' drama "Madam Secretary". The Oscar-winning actor will appear in the upcoming second season's premiere in October as both actor and director.

Freeman is actually involved in the series as an executive producer. According to Entertainment Weekly, Freeman will play Supreme Court Justice, although details about his appearance are unknown at this time. He will share the screen with Tea Leoni who plays the central character Elizabeth McCord.

The official synopsis reads, "In the season premiere, the President's plane is declared missing and Elizabeth is thrust into a situation of power she never imagined possible. Also, Henry butts heads with his new Defense Intelligence Agency handler, Jane Fellows, when he's asked to recruit one of his Russian students for the NSA."

Another high-profiled guest star is coming to the new season. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is set to appear as herself. She advises McCord on how to navigate a difficult situation with National Security Adviser Craig Sterling (guest star Julian Acosta) that's threatening her relationship with President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine).

"Madam Secretary" returns to CBS on October 4 at 8 P.M. ET.
