The upcoming ninth season will explore the story of Leonard's infidelity by introducing the woman he had a fling with.

AceShowbiz - The end of eight season on "The Big Bang Theory" left many fans devastated when Leonard admitted that he had cheated on Penny. The show will actually go deeper into this story by introducing the other woman.
Melissa Tang has been cast as Mandy, the woman whom Leonard kissed while he was dating Penny. TV Line, who exclusively reported the casting news, said the character would appear in the upcoming ninth season's second episode.
Leonard and Penny's relationship had gone through a lot of changes over the years, but it was going uphill on the season 8 finale when they were driving to Las Vegas to get hitched. Penny was pretty devastated when Leonard told her he had cheated on her while he was on a North Sea expedition. Their relationship was hitting a rough patch at that time but they were still definitely dating.
Tang had guest starred on other sitcoms such as "How I Met Your Mother" and "New Girl" but she was mainly known as Suzanne Taylor on "Mom".
"The Big Bang Theory" returns to screen on Monday, September 21 at 8 P.M. ET. It picks up a few hours after the events on last season's finale.
