Frank Grillo to Return for 'The Purge 3'
Movie

The actor who portrays Sergeant is set to reprise his role for the third installment of 'The Purge' movie series.

AceShowbiz - Frank Grillo is now in final negotiations with Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions for "The Purge 3", reports Variety. Grillo appeared in 2013's "The Purge: Anarchy" as a character named Sergeant, a man who seeks revenge on the night of the Purge due to the death of his young son.

"The Purge" series creator James DeMonaco will once again write and direct the new film. Jason Blum is producing along with Sebastien Lemercier as well as Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller through their Platinum Dunes banner.

The two previous films take place in a future where one day each year all crime is legalized for a 12-hour period, described by the government as "The Purge". Starring Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey, the second installment of "The Purge" film series became a major success, earning $89 million at the global box office on a production budget of $3 million.

Being a high-in-demand actor is not without its obstacle. Grillo's ability to reprise his role was threatened by scheduling issue as he had to finish "Kingdom" before working on other projects. Fortunately, Grillo could wrap the current season of "Kingdom" before he shoots "The Purge 3" which will begin filming in September.

Grillo recently finished shooting on "Captain America: Civil War" in which he reprises his role as Crossbones. He will next be seen in "Beyond Skyline" alongside "The Raid" star Iko Uwais and will appear in Akiva Goldsman's "Stephanie".
