A documentary about the team working behind the scenes for U2's current world tour will air on November 7, and the band's performance at Bercy Arena in Paris will air a week later.

AceShowbiz - U2 is teaming up with HBO for two TV specials. The cable channel is set to air the band's performance at the Bercy Arena in Paris, which is part of their current "iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE" world tour, on November 14.

A week earlier, the network will air a behind-the-scenes documentary about the band and the creative team's preparation and rehearsals for the tour. It will also address the impact of Bono's injury during a 2014 bicycle accident in New York on the tour. Oscar-winning filmmaker Davis Guggenheim will direct the documentary.

"U2 continues to take risks, which has made them one of the most consistently exciting forces in rock'n'roll," says Michael Lombardo, president of HBO programming. "The one-two combination of this documentary special, followed by the concert, will provide viewers with the ultimate look at this remarkable band behind the scenes and on the stage."

The U2 specials aside, Lombardo recently said at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills that he's open to a possible season 3 of "True Detective". He said, "I told [series creator Nic Pizzolatto] our door is open. I'd love to do another season with him. I think he's spectacular."

Lombardo also defended the once hit anthology series against backlashes over the second season. "I think you need to watch the entirety of it," he said. "I have, and I think it's enormously satisfying. I have never been in the business of micromanaging the process. [Pizzolatto] is a bold storyteller, and I mean that only in the most positive ways. ... I think it pays off in this particular season." He claimed that he's "enormously proud" of the current season.
