Eminem and Jake made a surprise visit during a 'Southpaw' screening at AMC Livonia 20 multiplex on Sunday, July 19.

AceShowbiz - Eminem and Jake Gyllenhaal made a surprise visit to a "Southpaw" screening in Detroit on Sunday evening, July 19. The rapper and the actor were introduced to a cheering, photo-snapping audience at a 7 P.M. preview showing of the boxing drama, which will be released in the U.S. on Friday.

The visit wasn't announced beforehand. A representative for Weinstein Co. said Eminem and Jake wanted to surprise fans at the rapper's hometown. Also attending the screening were Tommy Hearns and several local boxers.

Eminem told the audience before the movie was played, "From the minute I saw this script, I really felt like this movie had the potential to be something special. We hope that you all do, too. Jake did an incredible job... everybody in the movie is great in my opinion."

Jake added, "The album is sick, too. The training montage is insane because of his music. It's an honor to have him even be a little part of the movie, but the fact he gave so much to it, we all gave our hearts to it. It's an honor to be even next to him."

Some fans shared pictures from the surprise event on social media.

As my good friend Eduardo Bueno says... "Just show up" ... I was pretty lucky tonight. #SouthPaw #Eminem #JakeGyllenhall ... Funny I couldn't get anyone to go with me, lol. Guess I'll fly solo !
