In addition to original stars William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger, the two-hour series finale will feature show's vet Paul Guilfoyle and former guest star Melinda Clarke.

AceShowbiz - CBS has announced the cast for "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" series finale. In addition to the previously confirmed returning stars William Petersen (Gil Grissom) and Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows), the two-hour episode will bring back another show vet, Paul Guilfoyle (Jim Brass), who departed the show in season 14.

Main cast members Ted Danson (D.B. Russell), Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle), Jon Wellner (Henry Andrews), David Berman (David Phillips), Wallace Langham (David Hodges), Elisabeth Harnois (Morgan Brody), Robert David Hall (Dr. Al Robbins) and Eric Szmanda (Greg Sanders) as well as former guest star Melinda Clarke (Lady Heather) are set to return for the final episode too.

Meanwhile, George Eads, whose character Nick Stokes accepted an offer to head the San Diego PD Crime Lab at the end of season 15, and Elisabeth Shue, who played Julie Finlay from season 12 until 15, won't return for the series finale. TVLine says that Eads decided not to participate in the swan song, and EW reports that it's unclear how the producers will handle Shue's absence.

Helgenberger previously expressed her excitement to be back to "CSI" for one last time. "I'm excited... that all of us are going to be back. I think it's going to be a really fun time," she said at the Comic-Con.

Production on the special will begin July 29 in Los Angeles. The two-hour series finale will air September 27 on CBS.
