The Rolling Stones guitarist's new solo effort called 'Crosseyed Heart' will be released on September 18, while its lead single 'Trouble' will arrive next week.

AceShowbiz - Keith Richards is coming back with a solo album after more than two decades. The guitarist of The Rolling Stones announced on Thursday, July 9 that he's releasing the record called "Crosseyed Heart" on September 18. It will be led by single "Trouble" which is coming out on July 17.

Marking Richards' first solo effort since 1992's "Main Offender", the upcoming album boasts 15 songs the rocker mostly co-wrote with drummer and co-producer Steve Jordan. In addition to singing the tracks off it, he plays electric and acoustic guitars, bass and piano.

For the project, Richards has collaborated with Norah Jones on a song titled "Illusion", Spooner Oldham on "Lovers Plea", multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell on "Robbed Blind" and Aaron Neville on "Nothing on Me". The late Rolling Stones saxophonist Bobby Key is featured on "Amnesia" and "Blues in the Morning".

Also making contributions to the project are guitarist Waddy Wachtel, keyboardist Ivan Neville and background singer Sarah Dash.

"I had a ball making this new record and working with Steve Jordan and Waddy Wachtel again," Richards said of his new album via a news release. "There's nothing like walking into a studio and having absolutely no idea what you're going to come out with on the other end. If you're looking for Trouble, you've come to the right place."

Richard has just wrapped up a tour with his Rolling Stones bandmates. However, he'll likely hit the road again in the near future to promote his new album. "Usually if I put a record out, I do some road work. So, it's possible," he said in an April interview with Rolling Stone.
