AceShowbiz - The official trailer for "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip" has arrived. In the fourth installment of "Alvin and the Chipmunks" movie series, the chipmunk trio, Alvin, Simon and Theodore, go on a mission to abort Dave's (Jason Lee) proposal to his girlfriend.

The chipmunk trio become really worried when their father figure is about to propose to his new girlfriend. Afraid of losing Dave, the trio travels to New York to prevent the marriage proposal. The trailer highlights a party scene where the chipmunks dance on fancy cars such as Ferrari and BMW.

The movie seemingly has the same vein as the previous movies in which the chipmunks sing popular songs with their high-pitched squeaky voices. According to the official synopsis, "through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in New York City... and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother."

Justin Long, Jesse McCartney and Matthew Gray Gubler return to voice Alvin, Theodore and Simon respectively. Directed by Walt Becker, "The Road Chip" will arrive in U.S. theaters on December 12.
