Amanda's family hadn't heard about her for two days before she was found dead on Sunday, July 5 at her home in Greeley, Colorado.

AceShowbiz - Amanda Peterson passed away on Sunday, July 5 at the age of 43. The actress who was best known for her role in "Can't Buy Me Love" was found dead at her home in Greeley, Colorado. Before she died, her family hadn't heard of her since Friday, July 3.

Citing Amanda's father, TMZ said that the exact cause of her death was not known yet but noted that Amanda "had some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed." Besides sleep apnea, Amanda had been dealing with some other medical issues over the past two years that included pneumonia and sinusitis.

The website further said that Amanda had been living in a home with mold issues before moving out about a year ago.

Amanda started her Hollywood career in early 1980s and landed small roles in musical film "Annie" and several TV shows including "Silver Spoons" and "Boone". She got famous after playing Cindy Mancini opposite Patrick Dempsey in 1987's romantic comedy movie "Can't Buy Me Love".

In 1994, Amanda reportedly ditched her movie career and moved to Colorado. She was said back to school several years ago but dropped out around 2010. Before her death, it's said that Amanda had been trying to make it as a writer.
