'Inside Out' was the most watched movie on Fourth of July weekend, while 'Terminator Genisys' and 'Magic Mike XXL' failed to draw crowds in their debut weekend.

AceShowbiz - There were big fireworks at the Fourth of July box office this weekend as Disney-Pixar's "Inside Out (2015)" topped this weekend box office and was followed by "Jurassic World". Meanwhile, "Terminator Genysis" and "Magic Mike XXL" failed to draw crowds in its first week.

"Inside Out" beat "Jurassic World" with $29.8 million in its third weekend. Although it was down 43 percent from last weekend, the movie did better than newcomers "Terminator Genysis" and "Magic Mike XXL". After three weeks in theaters, the movie garnered a domestic total of $246.1 million.

"Jurassic World" shone as it added another $29.2 million domestically, taking the second place at this weekend's box office. The action thriller earned a domestic total of $558 million, surpassing "The Dark Knight" which grossed $534.8 million. The movie grossed around $42 million from international market for a global total of $1.4 billion.

"Terminator Genisys" failed to top this weekend's box office, collecting $27 million over the three-day weekend and $44.2 million over five days, placing third behind "Inside Out. The film opens next week in Germany, Italy, Germany and Spain and has not yet been dated for the booming Chinese market. Paramount Pictures vice chairman Rob Moore admitted that downbeat reviews hurt the first two days of domestic performance for "Terminator", but the movie was apparently not that bad as it got B+ Cinemascore. "The movie is a lot of fun and played well through the weekend," Moore added.

"Magic Mike XXL" performance was disappointing too as it ended up in fourth place for the weekend with $12.9 million. The movie ended its first five days with just $27.1 million, less than the $39 million three-day opening of the original "Magic Mike".

Rounding out the top five was Seth MacFarlane's R-rated comedy "Ted 2" which earned $11.2 million, down 67 percent, for a total domestic gross of $58.3 million.
