BET Awards 2015: Janet Jackson Receives Ultimate Icon Award, Full Winners Are Revealed

Tinashe, Jason Derulo and Ciara honored the singer with an amazing dance tribute before she took the stage to collect her award and deliver her acceptance speech.

AceShowbiz - As previously reported, %cJanet Jackson% accepted the first-ever Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual Award at the 2015 BET Awards on Sunday night, June 28. The singer attended the ceremony airing from the Microsoft Theater in L.A. to collect her prize and thanked everyone for the honor during her speech.

"It's been a very long journey to this moment," said Jackson. "My heart is so full. Thank you, God, for making everything, anything possible. I'm so grateful for the support You have always given me." She went on to thank her parents and her husband Wissam Al Mana before telling her fans, "I've missed you so much, and I love you so much."

To celebrate Jackson's award, she's honored with an amazing tribute from singers/dancers %cTinashe%, %cJason Derulo% and %cCiara%. Each of them performed a dance to the 49-year-old singer's songs like "Rhythm Nation" and "All for You".

Jackson wasn't the only one who had a big night at the 2015 BET Awards. %cChris Brown%, %cBeyonce Knowles% and %cNicki Minaj% were among the biggest winners at the prize-giving event as they took home multiple awards.

Breezy bagged the Best Male R&B/Pop Artist and the Fandemonium Awards. Bey, meanwhile, won the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Video of the Year for her "7/11". As for Minaj, she's named Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. Her "Only" featuring %cLil Wayne%, %cDrake% and Brown earned the Coca-Cola Viewers' Choice Award.

Other notable winners in music included %cKendrick Lamar% (Best Male Hip-Hop Artist), %cThe Weeknd% (Centric Award for "Earned It"), %cRae Sremmurd% (Best Group), %cSam Smith% (Best New Artist), %cCommon% and %cJohn Legend% (Best Collaboration for "Glory") and %cLecrae% (Best Gospel Artist).

In movie categories, "Selma" nabbed the Best Movie gong while %cTerrence Howard% and %cTaraji P. Henson% won the Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively. In sports categories, %cStephen Curry% was named Sportsman of the Year and %cSerena Williams% won the Sportswoman of the Year title.
